DESCRIPTION:The Alaska Splash n’ Dash is a Swim Run race that starts with a swim in Service High School Pool followed by a run on Service High Track (NEW CHANGE THIS YEAR!).\nOur mission is to get more kids to become involved in the sport of triathlon in the state of Alaska by providing inclusive\, fun races for kids ages 3-17 from beginners through the competitive level. NOTE\, USA Triathlon age is your age as of 12/31/2023. Life jackets are required for all kids that are unable to pass the swim test\, that will happen prior to starting their race in the shallow section of the pool. We strongly encourage families bring their own life jacket.\nEvery kid will receive a swag bag and a finishers medal. IF you sign up your child for all 3 races in the series\, the first 75 kids will get a FREE tshirt\, sizing limited to first come\, first served.\nThere is no early bib pickup. Bib pickup will be at Service starting at 5pm.\nRace Day:\nTransition area opens at 5pm. Kids will line up outside the pool area prior to their race starting\, social distancing 6ft apart in the line.\nFirst racer will begin at 6pm\n12 racers maximum will be swimming at a time. The swim is 50m (down & back) for Sea Otters or 300m for Puffins. Parents are responsible for counting Puffin racers 6laps.
