DETAILS: The Turnagain Triathlon is a 6th through 12th grade only race. This course is catered to have tons of great viewing points for spectators with it being a several lap course, just like most youth & junior National event. The swim is unique with a open water swim setup in Bartlett’s long course swimming pool. The bike is on a 2mile out & back closed road close. The run is on a variety of dirt, green and pavement with the finish line being in the sports complex area of Bartlett High.

Awards at Alaska Native Heritage Center

Swim : Laps around the entire pool, swimming around buoys at each corner of Bartlett Pool, with the pool in long course
(approx. 150m per 1 full lap)
Bike: Out and Backs from the Student/Bus Parking Lot (same as pool parking lot) to the Alaska Native Heritage Center
(2miles per lap)
Run: Laps in the backside of Bartlett on a mix of pavement and dirt trails
(.75miles per lap)
****Students entering 6th grade through 12th grade graduated 2018-2019 school year are welcome to compete****

Volunteer
Volunteers are needed for the Turnagain Tri in order to make it a successful event for all! Jobs include swim counters/support, transition area support, bike lap counters, bike course pointers, run aid station and run lap counters and lots more. All volunteers will receive a free yellow synthetic long sleeve, post race food, a Kaladi’s coffee card, and be entered into a drawing to win prizes for volunteers only!
